During this workshop, the teachers finished off their models from the last session and were asked to think of ways to modify or improve these spaces. One team decided to create a better connection between the entrance lobby and the courtyard by designing a special canopy to provide shelter from rain, while allowing sun to filter through coloured glass panels. Modifications were also proposed for the courtyard itself, the main entrance and multi-purpose room. Two of the participants even proposed a roof terrace for the computer room, complete with pizza oven!
At the end of this session, the teachers made a brief presentation of their designs. We then discussed ways in which the lessons could be improved, such as further practice on working with scale - the most challenging part of the workshops. Overall, it was great to hear that, by the end of these two workshops, the teachers felt that they had the confidence to carry out similar lessons in with their own students. We look forward to seeing the results of this work!
